Morley's Final Catalogue: Wide spread, frequent in marshes among sallow. Bures; Dodnash (Hkg); Bentley Woods; Ipswich, Brandeston; at Monks Soham light in July 1906 only (Mly); Needham. Worlingham and Fritton (Crf), but not recently in Lothingland.

Recent Suffolk Status: Local, mainly along river valleys and the coast.

Life history: Single-brooded. Larva found in a spinning on Spiraea douglasii in a garden in 2017, the moth bred out to confirm (N. Sherman).

Identification: This beautiful species is unmistakeable.

Habitat: Carr woodlands, river valleys.

Recorded in 40 (69%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1906.
Last Recorded in 2023.
